We have ten full-time employees at the museum. Lately, the project has kept every single one of us very busy. (That's one reason our blog posts have been less frequent.) The September reopening is now seven months away, and there's a lot that has to happen between now and then.
Most of the demolition work for the last two weeks has focused on the lobby area of the museum. Here are some before and after shots of that area.
Back in the gallery, demolition is largely complete. Herring Construction, the subcontractor for our project, has just begun its work. In the three photos that follow, you can see where workers have removed some of the old sisal wallcovering.
