GOVERNANCE

Who runs the show

The Museum of the Great Plains Authority operates as a municipal/public trust with a 501(c)(3) status.  We're governed by a board.

The trust has fifteen seats. Three members are appointed by the City of Lawton; three by the Institute of the Great Plains; three by the The McMahon Foundation; and six serve as At-large appointees.

Trustees serve three-year terms.  The City, Institute, and The McMahon groups replace one member annually.  The At-large group replaces two members annually.  Officers serve one-year terms.

The trustees really are more delightful (less boring) than this makes them sound.  Good eggs, all of them.
