The archaeological collection wins the contest for our oldest human-associated objects, as some go back 11,000 years!  ​You're welcome to visit, but make sure you tell us ahead of time.  Otherwise, we might be out digging a hole somewhere - and will miss you entirely, which would be a shame.

Please note:  As of June 26, 2026, the museum is no longer accepting appointments for research.  We're preparing for a major building renovation that effects all our storage and exhibit areas.  At this time, we expect collections to become available again in April 2028.

Please note:  Most areas of the museum will close to the public in mid-August 2026 for major building repairs.  We anticipate resuming full operation in April 2028.
