COFFEE'S STATION PROJECT

For almost 40 years, the replica trading post at the museum, commonly known as “The Fort,” reigned as one of the primary attractions.  In 2022, work began to rebuild the various structures - and the new "Coffee's Station" reopened in 2025.  Explore the history of the trading post, from its early 19th century inspiration to the modern living history exhibit.  Stroll through the decades in “Coffee’s Station Project!”

Please note:  Most areas of the museum will close to the public in mid-August 2026 for major building repairs.  We anticipate resuming full operation in April 2028.

Support for the Museum of the Great Plains provided in part by the City of Lawton and the City of Lawton Hotel-Motel Tax Fund.
